Make a Yelp QR Code
Paste your Yelp business link, style the code, and download it print-ready - so a window, a menu, or a receipt opens your page without anyone searching for you.
Opens in Google Maps. Coordinates work too - "37.4224, -122.0841".
The code opens your business's "Write a review" form. Paste the Place ID, or a Google Maps link that carries one.
A UPI link carries no checksum, so a mistyped ID produces a code that scans perfectly and pays somebody else. Paste the ID from your payment app rather than typing it, and send yourself one rupee before printing.
Paste it exactly as copied. KoloQR does not assemble the payload - it encodes the one your bank issued, and checks it before you print it.

What Is a Yelp QR Code?
A Yelp QR code is a QR code that stores the web address of a Yelp business page, so scanning it opens that page in the phone's browser or in the Yelp app. The code holds only the address, never the reviews, which means the same printed sticker keeps working as your rating, photos and hours all change.

Point It at Your Page, Not at the Review Form
This is where Yelp differs from every other review platform, and it changes which link belongs in the code:
- yelp.com/biz/your-business-city - your public page: photos, hours, menu, directions and reviews. Around 40 characters, and the right destination for a printed code.
- The write-a-review address - opens the review form directly. It exists, but pointing a printed code at it is asking customers for reviews, which Yelp asks businesses not to do.
- The short link from the app's share sheet - the Yelp app can produce a shortened link to your page, which is the smallest payload available if you want the densest code possible.
Yelp's own window stickers say “Find us on Yelp”, not “Review us on Yelp”, and that wording is deliberate. Yelp's content guidelines ask businesses not to solicit reviews at all, and its recommendation software discounts reviews that look prompted - so a batch of reviews arriving after a card goes on the tables can end up filtered out of your rating rather than added to it. A Yelp code that opens your page is entirely within the rules and does the thing a printed code is actually good at: getting somebody to your photos, your menu, and your directions in one scan.
What Happens After the Scan
On a phone with the Yelp app installed, the scan usually opens the page inside the app; on one without it, the same link opens the mobile web page, which shows your photos, hours, price range and reviews without any sign-in. Both are fine destinations, but they look different enough that you should see each before printing. Yelp's mobile page also puts directions, the phone number and the menu within one tap, which is why a page code earns its place on a window or a menu even though it asks for nothing. Scan your printed proof twice - once on a phone with the app and once on a phone without it - from a signed-out account, and check the business name and address on screen are yours rather than a similarly named listing.

Where Yelp QR Codes Are Used
A Yelp code works as a shortcut to your own page, wherever somebody would otherwise have to search for you:
- 1
Open Your Yelp Business Page
Find your business on Yelp and open its page in a browser. The address will look like yelp.com/biz/ followed by your business name and city.
- 2
Copy the Address, Not a Search Result
Take the whole address from the browser bar and delete anything after a question mark - those parameters are session tracking, not part of your page.
- 3
Paste the Link and Design the Code
Choose the URL type, paste the link, then pick colours and a shape that match the window sticker, menu, or card the code will sit on.
- 4
Test on Two Phones, Then Export
Scan the proof on a phone with the Yelp app and one without, check both land on your business, then export SVG or PDF for print and PNG for screens.

Which File Format Should You Download?
KoloQR exports your Yelp QR code in three formats. Pick by where it will be seen:
- PNG for social posts, email signatures, and screens - anywhere the code appears at one fixed size on a display.
- SVG for window stickers, menus, packaging, and vehicle livery - anything a printer scales without softening the edges.
- PDF for handing to a print shop, or for a menu produced at print-ready quality.
Window and vehicle applications are the ones worth planning for. A code applied to glass is read through the glass at an angle with the street reflected in it, and a code on a van is read from a pavement while the van is parked badly - both want the code larger than the page design suggests, matte rather than gloss, and positioned away from curves and rivets. Export SVG so the sign maker can scale it; a small PNG sent to a vinyl cutter is where soft, unreliable edges come from.
Generate QR CodeBest Practices for Yelp QR Codes
A Yelp code is a shortcut to your page rather than a request. These habits keep it useful and keep you inside Yelp's rules:
Don't Ask Customers for Reviews
Yelp's guidelines ask businesses not to solicit reviews, and its software discounts reviews that look prompted. A code labelled “Find us on Yelp” is compliant; one labelled “Review us on Yelp” is not.
Never Offer Anything in Exchange
Discounts, free items and prize draws for reviews breach Yelp's rules and can trigger a public consumer alert on your listing, which is far more damaging than a missing review.
Encode the Business Page Address
yelp.com/biz followed by your business and city. It is the durable, canonical address, and it works whether or not the reader has the app.
Strip Tracking Parameters
Anything after a question mark lengthens the payload for no benefit, and some of it is tied to the browsing session you copied it from.
Label What the Code Opens
“Photos, hours and menu on Yelp” tells a stranger why to scan. A bare code on a window asks for a leap of faith.
Check the Listing Is the One You Claimed
Duplicate listings are common. Scan the printed proof and read the address on screen, because a code pointing at an unclaimed duplicate sends customers to stale information.
Protect the Quiet Zone
Four modules of clear margin on every side. On a window sticker crowded with logos and opening hours, this is the first thing a layout squeezes out.
Size It for the Distance
Roughly a tenth of the reading distance: about 2 cm on a menu, about 20 cm on a window read from 2 metres across a pavement.
Use Matte on Glass and Vehicles
Gloss laminate reflects daylight straight into the camera. Matte costs nothing extra and is the standard choice for exactly this reason.
Test With and Without the App
The same link opens in the app on some phones and the mobile site on others. Both should land somewhere you are happy for a customer to arrive.
Why Your Yelp QR Code Isn't Working
Yelp codes rarely fail at the camera. They fail on the wrong listing, on the app handoff, and on reviews that get filtered after arriving.
The Scan Opens the Wrong Listing
- Cause
- A duplicate or unclaimed listing was copied, which is common where a business has moved, rebranded, or been added by a customer.
- Fix
- Claim the correct listing, ask Yelp to merge the duplicate, then regenerate the code from the claimed page's address.
Reviews Arrive and Then Disappear From Your Rating
- Cause
- Yelp's recommendation software moved them to the not-recommended section, which is what commonly happens to reviews that look solicited.
- Fix
- Stop asking. Point the code at your business page rather than the review form, and remove any wording that requests a review or a rating.
A Consumer Alert Appeared on Your Listing
- Cause
- Yelp detected compensated or incentivised reviews. This is a public notice on your page, and it is far more costly than the reviews were worth.
- Fix
- Remove every incentive immediately and follow Yelp's process to address the alert. Never offer anything in return for a review.
The Scan Opens the App and Loses the Page
- Cause
- The link was handed to the Yelp app, which occasionally lands on a search or a home screen rather than the business page.
- Fix
- Encode the plain yelp.com/biz address and test on a phone with the app installed. If the handoff is unreliable, the mobile web address is the safer print.
The Code on the Window Won't Scan From Outside
- Cause
- Reflections and the angle through the glass, not the code. Gloss laminate and direct daylight both defeat the camera's contrast detection.
- Fix
- Enlarge the code, move it out of the reflection line, and use a matte finish. Test standing on the pavement in daylight, not from inside.
Nobody Scans It
- Cause
- There is no label. A bare code in a window could be a menu, a Wi-Fi password, or a payment request, and most people will not find out.
- Fix
- Print one line saying what it opens - photos, hours, menu - and put it at eye level rather than at the bottom of the door.
Still not sure whether the fault is the file or the print? Drop the exported image into the QR code scanner - if it decodes on a desktop and not on paper, the fault entered after the file.

A Yelp QR code stores the web address of a Yelp business page. Scanning it opens that page in the phone's browser or in the Yelp app, showing photos, hours, menu, directions and reviews without anyone searching for the business.
Open your Yelp business page, copy its address - yelp.com/biz followed by your business and city - then paste it into a QR generator as a URL. Style the code and export SVG for print or PNG for screens.
Yelp asks businesses not to solicit reviews, and its recommendation software discounts reviews that look prompted. Point the code at your business page instead - that is what Yelp's own “Find us on Yelp” stickers do.
Because Yelp's ranking depends on reviews being unprompted. Reviews that appear solicited are frequently moved to the not-recommended section, so a campaign can produce reviews that never count towards your rating.
Yelp can place a public consumer alert on your listing warning visitors that compensated reviews were detected. That notice is visible to everyone who finds you, and it costs far more than the reviews were worth.
The business page address, yelp.com/biz followed by your business name and city. It is canonical, around 40 characters, and works whether the reader has the Yelp app installed or not.
Either. A phone with the app installed usually opens the page there; one without it opens the mobile website with no sign-in required. Test both before printing, because the two look quite different.
No. The business page, its photos, hours and reviews are public and open in any phone browser. An account is only needed to write a review or to save the business.
Where someone would otherwise have to search for you: the window, the menu, the takeaway bag, a business card, or a van. It is a shortcut to your page rather than a request, so it belongs where curiosity happens.
About a tenth of the reading distance, so roughly 20 cm for a code read from 2 metres across a pavement. Glass adds reflections and an angle, so size up rather than down and choose a matte finish.
